ANALYSIS: China's July 2026 Meat Imports Recoil as Safeguard Walls Close In
China's total meat imports, including offal, reached 466,182 metric tons (MT) in July 2026, according to data from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC).
This represents a 12.3% decline month-on-month (MOM) from the 531,834 MT recorded in June, and 12.6% lower year-on-year (YOY).
On a cumulative basis, year-to-date volumes through July reached 3,574,717 MT, 4.3% below the same period in 2025.
Weakness was broad-based across proteins.
