USDA Border Reopening Drives Deferred Feeder Cattle to Limit Losses
Chicago Mercantile Exchange feeder cattle futures mostly settled at the daily trading limit on Monday after the US Department of Agriculture announced it would resume Mexican cattle imports.
Live cattle futures also posted steep losses, sending the deferred contracts to multi-month lows on expectations that the border reopening could eventually ease feeder cattle shortages.
