Livestock Sector Lost US $700 Million This Year Due to Screwworms
More than a year after the first case of screwworm was detected, the livestock sector has suffered economic losses of more than 700 million dollars, due to the fact that 1,200,000 head of cattle have not been exported following the closure of Mexico's northern border, according to the National Conference of Livestock Organizations (CNOG).
