ANALYSIS: US Beef Consumer Consumption Analysis for 2025
Retail prices across all protein commodities increased in 2025, with beef leading the surge. Beef prices climbed 3.7% on average, compared to 1.25% for pork and 1.2% for chicken. Given the nearly double increase for an already premium protein, the central question becomes: did consumers retreat from beef at the retail shelf?
