Explosion Halts Cargo Ship Traffic Explosion Coal Carrier Damaged Near Site of Key Bridge Collapse
The main channel used by cargo ships to enter and exit the Port of Baltimore reopened Tuesday afternoon after being closed for about 20 hours as the Coast Guard sought to probe the cause of a Monday evening explosion on board a coal carrier.
Officials had closed the channel to scan for debris left behind from the explosion near the site of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse.
