Tesco’s ‘Value’ Logo Returns as Price War Ramps Up
Tesco is bringing back its blue-and-white striped “value” logo as it launches a “significant” step up in its price war with Aldi.
The UK’s biggest grocer said the return of the blue-and-white stripes – which it dropped in 2012 – would “symbolise value at Tesco” and would be “front and centre of a major marketing campaign highlighting the low prices available on leading branded products”.
At the time, the Guardian reported that Tesco had “ditched its blue-and-white striped Value label in favour of a new softer brand” as a way of trying to “relieve consumers of the embarrassment of buying the cheapest products on its shelves...
