Conagra Strikes Deal to Sell Chef Boyardee to PE Firm Brynwood Partners
Chef Boyardee is getting a new home.
Conagra Brands has agreed to sell the nearly century-old brand to private-equity firm Brynwood Partners for $600 million, executives told The Wall Street Journal.
New pantry mates
Chicago-based Conagra owns food and snacking brands including Slim Jim meat sticks, Orville Redenbacher's popcorn and Swiss Miss hot chocolate. The company generated about $12 billion in revenue in its fiscal year ended May 2024.
Conagra acquired Chef Boyardee, a line of shelf-stable Italian-inspired products, in 2000 with its $2.9 billion acquisition of International Home Foods, which also included Pam cooking spray and Gulden's Mustard...
