US Corn Plantings Seen Rising 5% in 2025, Soy Acres Down, USDA Says
U.S. farmers are preparing to increase corn plantings by 5% in 2025 to the highest in 12 years while cutting soybean acres to a five-year low, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said on Monday, as grower returns for producing the yellow grain were expected to be slightly better than those for the oilseed.
Prices for both crops have dropped from recent highs in February and have been hovering near three-month lows with global supplies expected to swell because of large harvests in South America.
