US Tariff on Brazil Boosts Cattle Prices in Rival Exporters
As Brazilian beef loses competitiveness and market share in the U.S. due to President Donald Trump’s new 50% tariff, rival suppliers are already seeing cattle prices climb.
Paraguay is the standout in South America. Data from consultancy Agrifatto show that from Mr. Trump’s July 9 announcement of the 50% surcharge on Brazilian products to August 5, Paraguayan cattle prices rose 10.7%.
