Australian Beef Production Hits Record in FY25, Mutton Output Climbs 12%
Australian red meat production reached record levels over the 2024–25 financial year, with beef output hitting an all-time high of 2.75 million tons, new data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show.
Australia processed 8.88 million head of cattle in the financial year, the third-largest annual slaughter since 1978 and the highest of the last decade.
