ANALYSIS: Low Production Reflected by Shrinking Inventories, December’s Turkey Cold Storage Report
In December’s cold storage report, all categories of turkey apart from “other” were down year-over-year (YoY), which was the first time that this had occurred in 2024. For even some of the less sought after items to be lower YoY really highlights the intensive production shortages that plagued the industry. This is further magnified by the fact that month-over-month (MoM) increases in whole bird, breasts, and total inventories were far below the 5-year average MoM increase.
