ANALYSIS: Australia’s Beef Boom Sets 2024 Exports Record at 1.34M mt
Australia’s 2024 beef and veal exports scaled to fresh new highs to 1.34 million metric tons (mt), according to data from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry (DAFF).
Pegging its annual growth at an impressive 24.1%, shipments jumped 261,163 mt compared to the same period last year. Following the 2019–2020 drought years, Australia in 2024 reaped the benefits of its herd rebuilding effort with record-high production levels, which supported strong export growth throughout the year.
