South Africa to Greenlight Brazilian Meat Imports from 19 Processing Plants
South Africa has agreed to authorize 19 additional Brazilian meat processing plants, Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) announced.
Eight of the processing plants specialize in beef, two in equine meat, five in pork, and thirteen in poultry, Mapa said. Six of the plants are in São Paulo, and the rest are in Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Santa Catarina, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Goiás, and Rio de Janeiro. The additions will bring the total number of authorized Brazilian plants to 28.
