ANALYSIS: Counting Chicken Eggs
Broiler hatcheries are setting an impressive number of eggs this year. In fact, cumulative sets not only stand 1.49% above a similar period in 2023, but they currently reside at a record high. Egg sets are also 3.33% higher than the 5-year average. While some of this increase is being felt on the chicks placement side of the equation, the rate of placements is not nearly as efficiently as it has been in the past.
