Tyson and Protix Plan US Insect Protein Facility JV
Tyson Foods has entered a joint venture with Netherlands-based insect protein company Protix to build an insect ingredient facility in the continental United States.
The companies claim that upon completion, it will be the first at-scale facility of its kind to upcycle food manufacturing byproducts into insect proteins and lipids for use in the pet food, aquaculture, and livestock industries.
