Crop Progress Data Shows Corn Planting 3% Underway in U.S.
The USDA has begun weekly progress reports on the growing season for major U.S. crops and this week marked the second report of corn planting progress among the 18 primary production states.
Corn plantings are 3% underway, one percentage point ahead of the 5-year average for this time.
Texas has completed 61% of planting activities, up 3 percentage points from the 5-year average but 1 point behind progress this time last year. North Carolina comes in second with 12% of corn in the ground, followed by Nebraska with 7%...
